Aftercare

We provide a full aftercare guide with every tattoo. The basics: keep it clean, apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer 2-3 times daily, avoid soaking in water (ocean, pool, bath) for at least 2 weeks, stay out of direct sun on the fresh tattoo, and don't pick or scratch the peeling skin. We also include an aftercare kit with every session.

You should avoid submerging a fresh tattoo in the ocean for at least 2 weeks. Saltwater can cause infection and will draw out ink before it's fully healed. Sun exposure should also be minimized for the first month. We recommend timing your tattoo for the middle or end of your trip so you can enjoy the beach before your session.

Booking & Sessions

Session length depends entirely on the design. Small pieces take 30 minutes to 2 hours. Medium custom work typically runs 2-5 hours. Large pieces like sleeves or back pieces are done over multiple sessions of 4-6 hours each. We never rush -- quality takes the time it takes.

Absolutely. You can bring sketches, photos, mood boards, or reference images. Our artists will review your reference and either adapt it or draw a custom piece inspired by it. We do not copy other tattoo artists' work -- we create original designs inspired by your references.

General

Yes -- at a reputable, professional studio it is completely safe. Bali Family Tattoo Studio follows strict hygiene protocols: all needles are single-use and disposed of after each session, we use medical-grade sterilization for equipment, and our artists are trained in bloodborne pathogen safety. The key is choosing the right studio. We encourage you to visit and see the space before you book.

The easiest way is to contact us via WhatsApp. You can also fill out the inquiry form on our Contact page. We'll respond within 24 hours to discuss your idea, suggest an artist, and confirm a date and time. We recommend booking at least 3-5 days in advance, especially for custom work.

We do accept walk-ins for smaller pieces and flash designs when artists have availability. However, for custom tattoos, fine line work, and larger pieces, an advance booking is strongly recommended to ensure we can dedicate the right time and preparation to your session.

Our team speaks English, Bahasa Indonesia, and basic Japanese. All client consultations for custom work are conducted in English or Indonesian depending on your preference.
